2021 Update

Although working amidst the Covid-19 pandemic has been extremely challenging, I'm delighted to announce that I have been working on some really exciting projects set to exhibit in 2021/22 with the support of Cork County Council, The Arts Council of Ireland and Create, the national development agency for collaborative arts.

Cork County Council Creative Artists Grant Scheme 2021

In April 2021, Cork County Council awarded my project 'From the Inside Out and the Outside In," the Creative Artist Grant. The project will explore island life, place identity and the fragility of island life deriving from the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic through a trilogy of work which will be exhibited at Uillinn: West Cork Art Centre in January, 2022.

The Arts Council of Ireland Visual Arts Bursary, 2021 Round 1

The Arts Council of Ireland Visual Arts Bursary will contribute to renting my own studio space here on Bere Island in which I can focus my artistic practice. The location, which is a great source of inspiration for me, will enable me to use the landscape of Bere Island for my video and performance works, whilst the studio itself will be used for the fabrication and planning of projects and engaging the local community in the arts.

Create Artist in the Community Scheme

Amidst the Covid-19 pandemic, I was inspired by the resilience of island women, which prompted the project 'The Hold,' a collective quilt project and the exploration of personal stories and creativity of island women. Create, the national development agency for collaborative arts, awarded the group the Project Realisation Award to complete this work. Upon completion of the project, an outdoor exhibition will be held this August 2021.
